Matthew's beginnings took root in Georgia and as a young child, music was the biggest part of his life. Matthew Kahler was born in Albany, Georgia in the United States of America on November 14th, 1959 (a Scorpio). He was the seventh child of Ralph and Lois Kahler and one of nine children. Everyone in the Kahler family sings, but Matthew is currently the only professional musician.

Matthew admits, "I may be a little on the crazy side. Sometimes I understate my crazy side....I lie to myself a good deal, but find it hard to catch me at it. I'm confused a good bit of the time, so I compensate by being too dogmatic about some things but this is changing a little for the better I believe. I have gone through tough things and as a consequence, I am able to take more in stride...the smallest things amaze me... a little rock, a leaf, a person being human." more
